Today, I spoke by phone with @WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. We discussed how the United States will work as a constructive partner to strengthen and reform the WHO—which will be a vital step to controlling COVID-19.
Earlier today, I swore in our first Cabinet member, Avril Haines, after her confirmation by the Senate last night. As the Director of National Intelligence, Director Haines will be dedicated to keeping the American people safe.
Thank you California—it has been an honor serving as your senator for the past four years. Our country has faced many challenges, but I remain certain that our best days are ahead. I promise to keep standing up for our shared values as your Vice President.
